Breathwork Facilitator Training

Breathwork Facilitator Training with Simon Yuen

Trauma-Informed Conscious Connected Breathwork Training in Australia, Asia & Online

Simon Yuen Facilitating Breathwork Workshops and Training

Learn the art of breathwork facilitation with Simon Yuen through an immersive training combining Conscious Connected Breathing, functional breathing, trauma-informed practice, nervous system awareness, somatics, bodywork and sound healing.

This training is designed to go beyond simply teaching you a breathing technique. You'll develop practical facilitation skills and experience to help you work with clients on a deeper level, understand different people and nervous systems, and confidently guide transformational breathwork experiences for individuals and groups.

The training is suitable for those beginning their journey as a breathwork facilitator, as well as existing breathwork instructors and practitioners who want to deepen their skills in transformational breathwork, Conscious Connected Breathing and Yin Rebirthing Breathwork.

You'll learn how to structure complete breathwork journeys, respond to what is happening in the room, integrate different modalities with purpose, and develop the presence required to facilitate beyond simply following a technique or script.

Drawing from more than 20 years of experience across movement, fitness and wellness, and years facilitating thousands of participants across Australia, Hong Kong and Asia, Simon shares the principles, practical skills and approaches he uses within his own workshops, private sessions, retreats and trainings.

The intention isn't to teach you to copy the way Simon facilitates. It's to help you understand why he makes certain decisions, build your own practical experience, and develop an authentic way of facilitating that works with the people in front of you.

Guided, not forced.

Become a Breathwork Facilitator

Learning breathwork and learning to facilitate breathwork are two different things.

You can understand breathing techniques, study physiology and experience powerful breathwork sessions yourself.

But when another person is in front of you, trusting you to guide their experience, a different set of skills is required.

How do you know when to encourage someone and when to soften?

How do you respond when emotion arises?

How do you work with different nervous system responses?

When should you speak?

When should you allow silence?

How do you create a journey without becoming dependent on a script?

And how do you create an environment where participants feel supported without trying to control their experience?

These are the questions at the heart of this Breathwork Facilitator Training.

The goal is not simply to teach breathwork.

It is to teach facilitation.

Conscious Connected Breathwork Training

At the centre of the training is Conscious Connected Breathing (CCB) — a continuous breathing practice where the inhale and exhale are connected without a deliberate pause.

Students explore different approaches within the wider spectrum of Conscious Connected Breathing, including traditional Rebirthing Breathwork and more contemporary transformational breathwork practices.

Rather than teaching one breathing style as the answer for every person, Simon teaches students to understand breathwork as a spectrum.

Different people need different things.

Some participants may benefit from a more activating experience.

Others may need a gentler approach.

Sometimes the most appropriate practice isn't transformational breathwork at all.

This is why the training also develops your understanding of functional breathing and nervous system regulation, giving you a broader foundation from which to work.

A Trauma-Informed Approach to Breathwork

Trauma-informed practice is not an additional module within this training.

It is part of the foundation.

Breathwork can create powerful physical and emotional experiences. With that comes responsibility.

Simon does not believe transformation needs to be forced.

A dramatic emotional release isn't automatically a more successful breathwork session, and the facilitator's role isn't to decide what somebody needs to experience.

Instead, students learn to consider choice, consent, communication, boundaries, pacing, intensity, nervous system responses and the individual capacity of each participant.

One of the central philosophies of the training is simple:

Guided, Not Forced

As a facilitator, you create the conditions for an experience.

You guide.

You observe.

You respond.

But the experience belongs to the participant.

Learning this distinction is an important part of becoming a responsible and confident breathwork facilitator.

More Than Breathwork

Simon's approach has developed through more than two decades working with the body.

His background spans fitness, personal training, movement, breathwork, functional breathing, somatics, bodywork, meditation and sound.

Rather than treating these as completely separate practices, the training explores how they can complement each other.

Students develop a broader toolkit incorporating:

  • Conscious Connected Breathing

  • Rebirthing Breathwork

  • Functional breathing

  • Nervous system awareness

  • Trauma-informed facilitation

  • Somatics and embodiment

  • Movement

  • Bodywork and appropriate touch

  • Sound healing

  • Music and journey architecture

  • Crystal singing bowls

  • Gong

  • Percussion

  • Voice

  • Integration practices

The goal isn't to use everything in every session.

It is to understand your tools well enough to recognise when they are appropriate and when they aren't needed.

Learn to Create a Complete Breathwork Journey

A breathwork facilitator does more than teach someone how to breathe.

You're creating an experience from the moment someone enters the space.

Students learn how Simon approaches the architecture of a breathwork journey — from arrival and preparation through to the breathing experience, emotional processes, rest and integration.

This includes understanding how verbal guidance, music, sound, silence, somatics and bodywork can support different stages of a session.

You will also explore how to adapt your approach rather than simply following one predetermined sequence.

Because real people don't follow scripts.

Neither should great facilitation.

Sound Healing Within Breathwork Facilitation

Sound has become an important part of Simon's breathwork journeys.

Students are introduced to the way he integrates recorded music and live therapeutic sound with Conscious Connected Breathing, including crystal singing bowls, gong, percussion, voice and silence.

This isn't simply about learning how to play instruments.

It's about understanding why sound is being introduced.

When might a singing bowl support the experience?

When could percussion complement the rhythm of the journey?

When does gong add depth?

When is the room already receiving enough stimulation?

And when is silence more powerful?

Students learn to think about sound as part of the wider architecture of facilitation rather than something added simply to make an experience more dramatic.

Learning to Facilitate in Real Time

Simon has facilitated workshops, retreats, private sessions and professional trainings across Australia, Hong Kong and Asia.

One of the biggest lessons from working with thousands of different participants is that no two rooms are exactly the same.

The same workshop can unfold completely differently depending on the people, environment, culture, group size and what is happening on that particular day.

This is why Simon doesn't want students to simply memorise his workshops.

Students learn the foundations first.

Then they learn to observe.

Listen.

Adapt.

The goal is to understand why a facilitator makes a particular decision so that eventually you can confidently make those decisions yourself.

Practical Breathwork Facilitator Training

Breathwork facilitation cannot be learned entirely through theory.

Eventually, you need to facilitate.

Practical experience is therefore a central part of the training pathway.

Throughout your development you will experience the work from different perspectives.

You will breathe.

You will receive.

You will observe.

You will practise.

You will facilitate.

You will receive feedback.

And you will continue developing.

This progression helps bridge the gap between knowing breathwork intellectually and being able to confidently hold space for another person.

Training, Immersion & Ongoing Mentorship

The Breathwork Facilitator Training is designed as a pathway rather than simply a short intensive followed immediately by certification.

The learning process combines foundational education, practical workshops, immersive training and continued mentorship.

Students progressively explore key areas of facilitation before bringing those skills together through deeper practical and immersive learning.

Ongoing mentorship provides further opportunities to practise, ask questions, receive feedback, shadow sessions and continue developing your confidence after the initial training.

Because receiving a certificate shouldn't mean you've finished learning.

It should mean you've built the foundations to continue.

Learn From Simon Yuen

Simon Yuen is a Breathwork Facilitator and Educator who has guided thousands of participants through breathwork experiences across Australia, Hong Kong and Asia.

His work today brings together more than 20 years of experience across fitness, movement and wellness with breathwork, functional breathing, somatics, bodywork and sound.

Alongside facilitating workshops, retreats and private experiences, Simon trains and mentors emerging facilitators.

His approach is not based around presenting himself as having all the answers.

In fact, one of his core philosophies is:

You Can Only Be as Good a Teacher as You Are a Student.

Simon continues to train, practise and learn from different disciplines, teachers and experiences.

Every workshop is another opportunity to observe.

Every group teaches something.

And that same curiosity is encouraged throughout the facilitator training.

Develop Your Own Way of Facilitating

The goal of the training isn't to create another Simon Yuen.

You won't be expected to use exactly the same words, music, instruments or facilitation style.

Instead, Simon shares the principles behind the decisions he makes.

Why choose this breathing practice?

Why introduce sound here?

Why change the music?

Why use bodywork?

Why step back?

Why sometimes do nothing?

As your understanding develops, you can begin answering those questions for yourself.

That is where facilitation starts becoming authentic.

You stop trying to perform the role of a breathwork facilitator.

And begin becoming one.

Breathwork Facilitator Certification & Pathway

For students pursuing certification, the facilitator pathway extends beyond simply attending the training.

Certification reflects both education and practical development.

Students are supported through ongoing practice, mentorship and facilitator development so they can continue integrating what they have learned and build experience working with others.

The intention is to develop facilitators who leave with more than information.

They leave with a foundation they can continue building upon.
